Embracing Femininity
Being feminine means taking things slow and easy, don't rush, just be. In order for us to really shine, be happier, be glowing, have a positive and beautiful energy that radiates throughout the whole room, we need to be stress-free.
It's easier said than done, I know. Now I'm not saying leave everything you have to do and relax, no. I'm saying do your responsibilities but also have some time for your own things and hobbies. It's the little things that matter and make the biggest difference.
Daily Rituals That Uplift Your Mood
Putting on your favorite song while getting ready in the morning, showering a little bit longer, applying your favorite moisturizer, treating yourself every now and then is absolutely necessary.
If you have a hobby, pursue it!! Don't put so much of your time on social media. Now I'm definitely NOT a social media hater, I love social media and I think it's very fun and it opens a lot of opportunities for us. However, we have to know how to use it wisely so it does not keep us from living in the moment.
Practical Tips for Social Media Control
An example of how you could do this is deleting it from your phone and viewing it from your laptop instead, so that you always have to make an extra step to view social media. Or, download it every weekend or on specific days that you pick. Be creative, it's your life and you're the only one who has it in your hands. You can download it from 8 pm on a Wednesday or from 10 am on a Saturday, whatever it is that you want. Social media is very fun, but we want to control our dopamine and not be addicted to this fun. Too much of anything is never good.
Now, when you do this first step, you will notice things about yourself, you suddenly have plenty of time to do whatever it is that you want. It's almost a new self-discovery. The first time I cut off social media for 2 months straight, I found myself scrolling through my own gallery on my phone as if it’s social media. My fingers went swiping, searching for Instagram, forgetting that I deleted it. It felt very detoxing; it felt very nice. When you do it, you might even discover new things you didn't know you would like. Even if you don't end up doing anything or just simply chilling with family or friends, that alone is very good for your health.
Inner Health for Outer Glow
In order to glow on the outside, you start from the inside.
Another very important point is taking care of the food that you feed yourself. It's such a blessing having taste buds. I think it's so adorable, and I'm so grateful for being able to taste so many things... it's seriously magical, at least to me. Kinda feel bad for animals for not having as many food choices as we have. Lol.
Anyways, how to stick to a food habit, or whatever new habit you want to build, check out my other blog where I talk about that in detail.
Another way to be stress-free is sleeping.
Sleep: The Daily Restart Button
Don't underestimate sleep. Get the sleep you need. Sleep is the "restart button" for the day; it's the time where your brain and body finally relax and process whatever that day brought to you. Be intentional when you sleep. The "2 hours scrolling before bed while laying down" is exhausting for your mental health. That's a thing you already know but it has to be mentioned because it's true. Why go to bed 2-3 hours before you plan to sleep?
You have to make your brain connect bed with sleep. Meaning: don't go to bed 2-3 hours before you plan to sleep and just lay there watching a series or scrolling. Use the bed for sleep and just sleep. You want to fall asleep easily; the way you do that is by making your brain believe "laying down in bed means now it's time to sleep."
If you couldn't help but need to lay down, put your head on the side where you usually put your feet instead. This helps you sleep faster and actually sleep deeply.
Another tip for better sleep is to meditate right before that. I will be writing a blog about this topic so you can read it in depth.
Procrastination: The Silent Stressor
This will kill you. Procrastination causes anxiety, which is a very good thing because it could be what pushes you to do the task you have to do. You want to make it a habit to finish a task as soon as it's handed out to you. Don't rush to finish it, just start as soon as you can. There are times when you have to do your tasks at a later time, but even with this, sit down and say, "Okay, I cannot do this now because I have other plans for now, but I will deal with it tomorrow morning." Setting a time for a task like this eases it so much for you. Make it a problem for "today evening at 8," "tomorrow morning," "Saturday night." You don't have to stick to the exact 8 pm. Just setting a time for later makes your brain relax and be able to live in the moment.
Keep repeating this and apply it to your life and you will notice that you cannot sit down and relax until you either solve the issue/deal with the task NOW or SET A TIME to deal with it later. Both solutions put you at ease.
